Redemption!

What a game!  This is just what the doctor (SP) ordered!   A little redemption for last year’s playoff exit to the Pistons, and a much needed win at home against an undefeated team as well.  Lets get a nice little run going here.  If you look back at all 5 games from this season, we could be 5-0 if we played well at the end of the 4th quarter.  That’s where we have to come up big, and not look so nervous.  Game ball goes to Tyrus Thomas for his sick play, AND to Skiles for 1) not sitting Tyrus excessively again, and 2) for apologizing to Noah (and criticizing the media) for comments made.  Let the man speak!  Speaking of "speaking", after the Bulls dropped to 0-4, Joe Smith, the talented and smart veteran made the comment ”What I see at times is when teams go on runs, we kind of put our heads down a little bit. We need to back each other up and kind of get each other motivated to go on runs of our own.”  Looks like the Bulls heeded his advice in Game 5, and it paid off.

Up next: a rising Raptors team, which could be the surprise of the East this year, comes to UC on Saturday.

Jalen Rose apparently doesn’t think this Bulls team will be able to get it done in the playoffs. He offers his ten cents here….(which is about all its worth).

Check out this sweet clip of some Tyrus Thomas highlights on the Bulls.  First couple plays have some static, but then it clears up nicely.

Cousin SP @ 1:39 pm:

Mike–thanks for the shout out. Tyrus is a beast, but still raw. Against a traditional center (not that there’s many out there anymore), he still comes up foul-prone. Also, all ten jump shots he’s hit outside 15 feet are in that highlight reel. Don’t get me wrong, I love his energy/hustle/heart, but I’d take somebody who can provide 30-35 minutes of day-in/day-day out of solid play each night. Shoulda gone after Garnett, seeing as what little the TWolves were willing to give him up for. I don’t see a Garnett-led team dropping games to the Clips, Bucks and 6ers.

Mike @ 6:52 pm:

Tyrus can draw fouls easier than anyone on the team. He’s gonna be huge. He just needs to sharpen up his free throw shooting.
